The Weeknight Dinner + Wine Pairing Guide

Some nights, you’re busting out the carefully-prepped slow roast you started on Sunday. Others (read, most), are more “I have one clean pan, random ingredients, and I just need something in my stomach.” This guide is for the latter.

We firmly believe you don’t need an ambitious recipe (or a special occasion) to enjoy a good food and wine pairing. A bottle alongside a low-effort dinner can make even the busiest Wednesday night feel a little more special.

Pizza Toast + a Chillable Red

Bread, sauce, cheese, and whatever toppings you have on hand make for a simple and tasty dinner.

A chillable red wine is a natural match here. Light-bodied with bright fruit and low tannins, it complements tomato sauce and melted cheese without overpowering them. Served slightly cool, it keeps the whole meal feeling fresh.

Frozen Orange-Style Chicken + an Off-Dry White

Sweet-and-savory freezer meals are weeknight staples for a reason: they’re fast, familiar, and reliably satisfying. When there’s a sticky sauce and a hint of heat involved, an off-dry white wine really shines.

A touch of sweetness balances bold flavors, while bright acidity keeps everything from feeling like straight-up sugar.

Sheet-Pan Veggies + Sparkling Wine

Roasted vegetables are the ultimate low-effort (and healthy!) dinner. Sweet potato, bell pepper, cauliflower—whatever your fav veggies are, toss them with olive oil, salt, and pepper, roast until caramelized. Add a sprinkle of cheese, a spoonful of pesto, or a squeeze of lemon if you’re feeling fancy.

Then, uncork the bubbly! The bubbles lift roasted flavors and add contrast to crispy edges and soft centers.

TL;DR

Good food and wine aren’t reserved for weekends or dinner parties. Sometimes they’re exactly what you need on a Tuesday. Pairing simple dinners with the right wine can make weeknight meals more enjoyable.
