The wine world is one that’s both hyper-local and massively global. Local because the individual terroirs of regions are so much of what give wines their personality. Global because, especially over the past 30 years, winemakers more frequently travel far outside their home vineyards to glean information from other parts of the world. Point de Passage honors the global nature of wine, while also being a bottling that strongly reflects its French roots. This Merlot is organically grown on sandy soil, which is the perfect match for this grape, as it encourages its fruit nature to shine through. Look for notes of red fruit and purple flowers with rounded tannins, making this ideal with stuffed peppers or tortellini and sausage in brodo.
