This was my first experience ever having a Sparking Johanniter, so while I can’t speak to it against type, this was such a fun, and unexpected, wine. The mouth feel was big, juicy and fizzy. The first sip reminded me so much of the little round martinellis sparkling juice that I secretly love that I immediately had a huge smile on my face. Sips 2 - the bottom of the bottle a couple of days later proved the same! Great on its own, and with a very spicy pepper and sausage meal that I made, I’ll be revisiting this for upscale pool days, friends parties, and probably a dinner or two. Another bottle will prove if it’s going to become a wine fridge staple or not, but I have high hopes.
